Not every tune gets a standing ovation on day one... and that's okay.
A little while back we calibrated the transmission on Rob's 2023 Isuzu D-MAX. The factory shift strategy and torque converter logic on the 4JJ3 is, in our opinion, far from ideal. Gear hunting, inconsistent converter lock-up and hesitant shifts are common complaints.
When Rob first drove it, his reaction wasn't the instant "wow" we often hear. Rather than rushing to judgement, we asked him to live with it for a couple of weeks and let the transmission adapt while he experienced it in everyday driving.
